Hi All,
Is there any literature or posts on the relicing processes Fender uses for their relic series ? I'd be interested in reading how these guys do it, how long it takes, etc...

I seriously doubt that there is any official "literature" about their techniques. That sort of thing would be proprietary information. I have some ideas of how they do things, but no official confirmation. Somethings are common sense, like using a file to make dents and nicks, and checking the finish by freezing things, etc.
If you are going to do it, do it tastefully. Light Forearm wear, and a few digs and scratches on the edges would work. I hate when people sand off huge patches where your hands never touch the guitar.
You HAVE to have a Nitro Cellulose Lacquer finish for it to work at all, yes, freeze it get it to check, but I think you need it colder than a normal freezer to do it right. I think if you have a chest freezer and set it as low as possible it will work.
But my real recommendation is play it and try to keep it as perfect as possible. I find the more I try to keep it perfect, the faster it gets dinged up.
