Putting together a trio or quartet

Gee...why not use this forum to line up a band????

I'm looking for a blues/pop-oriented drummer who can play an occasional Rhumba....

A bass player with good chops for blues who can play more than a "walk" who also can also play some lost classics (Jazz Bass preferred)...

And an electric/acoustic guitarist who can do blues lead work of depth and color with a sense of tone and their own style and share leads without having a major ego issue.

    Singing is a plus.

Male or female....old enough to play in places where alcohol is served...mid 30's to 50's ideal...

    In the Philadelphia area...
for gigs once a month in concert type settings...not mostly bars

Committed to having fun and not adverse to new , original blues oriented material.

This wish list also includes a keyboard player, preferable female who can sing and has a book of Bessy Smith type tunes....but I know that's really stretching it.

I got all the people lined up Paul, but it may require relocation.

Gets more difficult all the time....see?

Double, no triple good luck then.

Really, you can probably find those kinds of players on a per gig basis if they're financially lucrative. Otherwise, compromise is the more likely outcome.

    Heck...I can dream...can't I?

I've had the experience before that some of my criteria can be met but never all. This time, however, I won't compromize on a drummer!

Thanks for the generous offer T-B...but I don't think I want to be saddled with the responsibility of your total income if you move.

Nice thought though. I appreciate it.

Do yourself a favor, forget guitar number 2 and go with keys. It'll will add SO much diversity to the band you won't believe it, especially for blues. Two guitars are nice, but think tinkling piano behind the vocals, or a screamin' B-3 sound with the Leslie full out.
A friend in need is a good reason to screen your calls.

    Interesting Turn of Events

I've been asked to set to work with a bass player who has gobs of chops.
That makes me happy as we'll supposedly be sharing the chair.

My old trio is getting back together for at least one good gig.

I've got a show lined up, and with the able assistance of Tele-Bob and Gus on percussion.

There's a benefit to do with The Buicks as backing before that.

Looks like, frankly, I'm too busy now to worry about starting anything else.

    Thanks for your input folks.
