    Are there any resources for....

capacitors in "multisection cans"? I have a Gibson skylark and I suspect a bad cap. the multisection can houses four 450volt caps 10uf and 20uf.

It will be difficult space wise to put individual caps in this area. I will probably have to do it anyway but I though I would search for the multisection type first.

Multisection caps are getting scarce. Most folks stuff a can themselves. Give Hoffman Amps a shot.

Do they have to be in a can or can they be installed as individual caps?

You should be able to find something suitable at one of these:

Yes, individual caps can be used to replace any element in the can.

The guy that fixed my Marshall back in the early 70s used a separate cap for each element in the can and it's been fine for 30 years.

Of course, for the sake of keeping the value of a vintage amp up, a proper replacement for the original part is best.
