    Recommended Rory Gallagher?........

    Can you guys recommend me some Rory Gallagher songs to check out?

    Which cuts demonstrate his skills the best?

    Rory was able to change styles and play almost any kind of music.All of his albums are very good I dont think you Would be dissapointed with any of his works.I would start with his live albums if you want to capture Rory at his best.....


    Live in Europe
    Irish Tour
    Live at the BBC
    Stage Struck

    If you want to start with studio albums here are the first ones I would reccomend ......

    Thanks guys!.........I already downloaded an MP3 of Garbage Man from BBC Sessions....

    Rory's got some great tone too..........Besides a Strat, what else did he use?

    More Rory

    For electrics, he mostly went for the Strats, but I have seen him with a Tele.

    Also known to work a National Steel; quite a slide player, too.

    If you want some really old Rory Gallagher, look up the band "Taste" - critically acclaimed with a cult following.

    Yep, also a early 60's National electric, a LP Jr, a Gretsch Corvette, Martin D35, Takamine A/E, Martin Mandolin, '57 Strat, '55 Esquire, a 30's National Resonator.

    Vox AC30, Low Power Tweed Twin, Tweed Bassman, Tweed Deluxe, Marshall Combos, Marshall 100 watt head & 4x12 bottom (or two) for large halls, Stramp, Ampeg V4.

    Yeah, I'm probably gonna go for the BBC Sessions. There are a lot of good BBC albums out there.......... Hendrix and Zeppelin come to mind...:wail2
