    1961 Jazzmaster

Lucked out at a Guitar Show today. 1961 Jazzmaster in excellent plus condition, slab board, blonde transparent finish, clean original case and several original tags and strap. This guitar has a great neck, plays like a dream and sounds great! I'm in heaven tonight! Hope you enjoy the pictures! :)

Cool! Looks expensive. The plastic parts seem pretty white for 42 years old.

The plastic parts have aged nicely; the flash photo makes them look whiter than they are. :)

I knew a guy once that traded his '59LP straight across so he could get his hands on one of those!
Of course, that was about forty years ago...
    Congrats on the score, Mike!

Thanks. Sounds like the guy you were talking about made a pretty big mistake on that trade! :dead

When I quizzed him about it, he said, "It was a JAZZMASTER! Everybody had to have one!"

    Nice.
I just recently had my first Jazzmaster experience.
Super cool. I've been missing out.
    Enjoy that beauty.

    Jazzmaster

Nice score! Your guitar has few older features like the way the arm is bent and the amber switch tip.

I think ash is the best sounding wood for Jazzmasters. Of all I ever owned my blonde is the best sounding. It is a '59 (1/59 body date, 3/59 neck) transparent blonde with gold guard. I have the manual, strap, bridge cover, and trem arm (all originals). Unfortunately the stock arm was custom bent by the original owner, so I use a slightly later arm on it.

    re: ...white Jassmasters...

very purty boys! makes me long for the two Jazzmasters I've owned: a '65 and a '67, both polar white/tortoise shell pickguard/bound block inlay necks. All I got now are memories and a few pictures.
