Randy, are you going to be able to help me organize musicians and help with the MC duties?

    I'd be happy to.

As far as organization, all we need is a sign-up sheet; I'll put that together and bring it. I'm cool with being the MC.

Since we don't have a "host band" per se, do we have confirmation that we'll have at least one drummer? Also, I know n-n-m and Scott can play bass (and well!), but do we have any other bass players confirmed?

Three weeks from tomorrow - woo hoo!

YOWZA! But, what guitar should I bring? I'm tempted to bring the lightest one withh the most comfortable handle on the case. Those long walks aorund the airports really raise hell on your hand!

As of right now, I do not have a confirmed drummer. If push comes to shove, I can keep a back beat. maybe not very good, but better than nothing.

TB, yeah, it's all about comfort and fun. bring the comfortable guitar with the comfortable case.

I'm still planning to be there, but I have to take an emergency cruise to Mexico the week before. We dock on the fifth, and we are trying to work out affordable plane tickets now....

In a worst case we will drive home Friday and I'll still make it Saturday...

I put together my son's drum set, and have concluded that I can play drums just as badly as I used to, which is to say, better than nothing in a very relaxed situation. I figure if we start the song too slow, we'll invariably end it too fast, so somewhere in there we will play it at the correct tempo for at least a couple of bars.

If you guys want, I'll be happy to contribute $50 towards hiring a drummer for the jam. No offense to anyone wanting to fill in, but hiring a capable drummer might take the pressure off and allow the people taking drummer duty to instead play their main instrument. hmmmm?

WTB, we haven't gotten that desperate yet.

Oh, somebody try to contact Gina D. and get her to come to this event.

I'll try my best to be there. Looks like this one's going to be great fun! I'll also see if I can encourage our drummer to come along with me. He will probably bring his own kit if he comes.

Mike if he wants to come, email me with your or his phone number and we will make arrangements for his kit. I don't want to have too much in the way of equipment as the stage is not large enough for more than one drum kit.

I'll let you know as soon as I talk to him. He actually came with me to the NorCal jam last year, but was afraid to play Paul's vintage kit. He's an animal, one of the hardest hitting drummers I've ever seen.

Mike, (pardon me for butting in) it would be wonderful to have him play!

Those I know are all booked...I tried.

Big Apples (Shredlet) (Dave) brought a dynamite drummer to the jam at the Stoney Inn. Maybe email him (Big Apples).

I haven't heard from Dave yet, but I will email him and see if he plans on making it and if a drummer is available. I will probably have a drummer there but he will be of limited ability.

All drummers are welcome. I will try to have another drummer avalable. I will probably bang the drums myself, but don't expect too much.

I talked to Joe (the drummer) today and he will be bringing his kit. We don't have room for more than the one kit so don't bring any others if possible.

How many bass players besides me and scott do we have? I will bring bass equipment if no one else is. let me know.

Paul has talked to Jim & Jerry about attending. My daughter has a soccer tournament that day, with the last game starting at either 1:30 or 3:00, so I most likely cannot attend.

Paul is our drummer, Jerry on guitar, & Jim plays guitar & bass.

Someone stop me before I say "I'll bring my bass gear" because I don't have any and then I'll have to go buy some and...

    OK, I won't be bringing a bass.

I will bring my recently-acquired Dr. Z Airbrake attenuator. Hideous power tube overdrive at any volume. Get in touch with your inner teenager.

FDPer Tri0de came to one of the jams. He's killer on bass. Maybe email him, if you haven't.

Maybe I did something wrong, but I did a search on FDP for TriOde and came up empty.

Well, I may not be there until 2 or 3pm, but I'll be there. It looks like we will be driving back from LA Friday and part of Saturday.

I'll bring the raffle items with me. Bunch of little items, but all genuine Fender. Nice stuff.

If someone can get a jar with names on slips of uniform paper. One entry per person, which would be appreciated.

Maybe, and I hope they will give me a few things to raffle off when I go through the Fender plant in Ensanada. I'll ask.

I don't have anything actually portable. My recording rig is a mini tower and too hard to move... After that, it's just a cheap dictation cassette recorder. I wish I still had my Tascam 4 track. It did a great job. Very clean.

    Thanks Bob, I emailed Tri"zero"de.

Also, After the jam, Auburn is having their Old Town Christmas about a half mile from where we are playing. This is always fun and we can all have our picture taken with santa.

I just want to do "You Can Have My Husband"

can we do the stops on the verses?

Guess, once again, there ain't no room for the keys.

*sigh* tha's okay, I play lousey anyhow (I'll bring Jezebelle in case I get brave enough to play in front of you all).

Sacblues, you MUST do "Crossroads", Sweetpea.

Shoot honey, bring them keys, we'll make room. Then we can play "Mama Screw Your Wig On Tight." You can play that, can't you?

I can definitly play"You can have my husband..." with the stops. I can cue the stops if you're singing.

I'm really looking forward to this. Besides, then Annie can chew me out for being a butthead in the political threads.

Hey, Pete, politics has a way of turning us all into buttheads.

"You can have my husband but please don't mess with my man!"

We can only do that tune with the stops if you let me play it with you Annie. I dig that tune. How 'bout "Cry Like A Rainey Day" by Etta James? In the key of A? I used to play it with a group a few years ago and we moved it from G for the singer. It's a great tune. Or, "It's Too Late", "Can't Find My Way Home", "No Matter What", "I Got A Line On You Babe", "California Man", "Surrender" and so much more. I'm pretty rusty on this stuff but if you want to do any of these I'll bone up on them.

Has anyone thought about some vittles?

I was thinking a couple or three large pizza would hit the spot for the gang. We can pitch in our share.

Failing that, would some of you be interested in dinner after the jam?
