Not going to bring an amp. I'll just syphon off of one of you guys. Maybe a nice Deluxe, or a Super. I'll play through whatever ya got.

I'm not sure if I'll bring my Strat, Tele, Heritage or Carved Top Tele with P90s. Hmmmm, Maybe I'll just bring the one that weighs the least.

Good gawd, Tele-Bob, what kind of whimpy ISP do you have that doesn't provide Web access to email from anywhere? This is an OUTRAGE!

Anyway, I would love to see that carved-top Tele.

I've got T-B covered with the airport pickup; we'll have him stay with us too, so expenses are minimized.

Thanks for setting this up, m-n-m; this is gonna be fun.

I think it is only fair. I have no beef with the users at all.

It looks like I should be able to make it, at least for some part of it. I going to see if I can get a donation for a raffle prize. No guitars though... Don't count on it, but I'll see what I can do....

I sent emails to the people who's email I had. I did not however, feel it appropriate to list a TFF jam on the other forum.

I know what you mean. No sense in calling out the "wet blanket brigade". It's good to see that all are welcome to attend. Same policy goes for the jams I host out here.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and bangin out a bunch of tunes. Thanks for the lift and the accomodations SacBlues. It's a big help.

Unfortunately it looks like I will not be able to attend this event because it is the same day as the final NorCal event for another forum I'm on that is closing down.

Have a good time. I'll try to catch the next event.

Well, it seems to be coming together. here are some directions to the club. I will email them to all that I have emails for.

From Sacramento, take interstate 80 east. When in Auburn, take the Elm Ave. exit. Turn left. AT the bottom of the hill, at the light, turn right on High street. Turn left at Cleveland ave (the first light). Short street, at end turn right onto Lincoln way. This is downtown Auburn. The Club Car is a few shops down on the right. Park and enjoy.

If you need to ask where it is, remember that it was the Smoke Shop and people may still know it by that name.

In case you haven't hear, the Shredlet (Big Apples on the FDP) gets to play on stage with Dave Meniketti at the Little Fox in Redwood City, Dec 12 or 13, not sure which. Both nights are sold out. Shredlet is a happy guy. Hopefully he'll come to this jam and we can give him some warm-up time.

Shredlet's head may not fit through the door after that, I'll bring a chain-saw.

    Bring the Heritage.

    Hope Cliff and entourage attend.

Do I need to rustle-up a drummer or anyone? Might be short notice at this point.

It can't hurt to have an extra drummer or bass player. A couple of guys who can swing would be cool!

My daughter's soccer team has applied for entry in a two-weekend soccer tournament -- we have received no reply yet, but if we're in it, I will most likely not be able to attend the jam. I will contact all the rest of the VibroCounts to see if any will be attending -- Paul on drums, Jerry on guitar and/or Jim on guitar (and bass if anyone has one he can use).

Hope to see you all there if I can!

I'll try to rustle-up Billy and Truman (drums and bass) this coming week. If they're available they'll knock our socks off.

Hope you can make it Cliff, just 'cause I need your bear-hug.

The excitement is building. Any songs we should be considering at this point? I really dig backing up female vocals. Perhaps we all have a few songs in common.

    Song suggestions . . .

Hootchie Cootchie Man (same style as on Clapton's "From The Cradle")
Born In Chicago (Butterfield; straight-ahead upbeat tempo)
Thank You Mr. Poobah (Butterfield; a cool little jazzy instrumental jam tune)
Got My Mojo Workin' (Butterfield/Bishop version)
Sweet Home Chicago (traditional; medium shuffle)
Lollipop Mama (William Clarke; a jump-bluesy upbeat tune)

I think a lot of the material will probably wind up being I-IV-V's, just because they're so easy to follow and rotate solos. Unless all the players know specific tunes by specific artists, a jam can quickly become a trainwreck. On the other hand, we're not gettin' paid to play so maybe the occasional trainwreck isn't as bad as if we were actually a BAND.

There will also probably be players attending who don't want to play blues, so their song choices may work well for them.

I'm flexible regarding the material we play; it's the getting together that's as much fun as the playing itself. I'm looking forward as much to quaffing some suds and listening as I am to jamming.

    Others I know will work:

Blues about You Baby - Delbert (straight 1-4-5 in whatever key necessary. I'll sing it unless you want to)

Milk Cow Blues - (1-4-5 with a 5-1 turnaround and a band intro that hangs on the 1)

Don't Bite The Hand That Feeds ya - Kim wilson, another straight 1-4-5, I do it in E.

Before You Accuse Me - Any version, but I like Delbert's, which starts the verses on the 4 and is a shuffle. essentially a 1-4-5

She's Got To Have It - Kentucky Headhunters, 1-4-5 that hangs an extra measure on the 4 in the turnaround. Pretty easy.

    Tulsa Time - Danny Flowers
I do it in G but if a higher-voiced singer wants to do it, it's easy. Two chords, the 1 and the 5.

I wouldn't mind firing up the bridge pickup on some country tunes:

    Cryin' Time
    Hey Good Lookin'
    Folsom Prison Blues
    Mama Don't Allow

Now that I think about it, we always say "Let's play this and this and this," and then we end up playing... whatever. We're kind of relaxed out here.

    Hi,

    My lovely wife Leslie will be singing;

Lost in the sauce - I_IV_V
    Hotel California
    Happy together
    Do You Want to Dance
    Gimme one reason
    I can't tell you why
    Summertime

    I want to do;

    Can't you See
    Mustang sally
    Walking the dog
    C. C. Rider
    Wild thing
I have many more I can do, but you get the idea.

I mostly just want to riff some licks and enjoy.

It's getting closer to time for the jam and I'm starting to twitch.
