Shine your light.
I would be em-bare-assed to try to play with you folks but I have a couple amps if you need them.
SuperReverb - BF'd with Celestions
BassmanTen - BF'd with reissue alnicos
BassmanTen - BF'd with two CTS alnicos and two ceramnics
VC - hotrodded w/ a 10" alnico works fine for harp in a small place, I also drive a 4x10 box with this and it might be fine for git in a small place
Traynor YGL3M3 if you want to break some windows
I'm just down the hill in Rocklin so no sweat on getting them there if you want them. See y'all anyway just to catch the tunes.

The Volume Knob Is The Fountain Of Youth
There's no such thing as being embarassed to join in - our jams are low-key freindly gatherings where folks of all abilities are welcome to play without worrying about attitudes from the other jammers.
There's no musical politics at NorCal jams.
Come on up, bring your axes if you'd like to play, and have a good time!
Right on Sacblues. We even allow people from "other" forums to attend without grievances. I have hosted 8 of these affairs and it is a very nurturing environment. If a guy has a little trouble holding down a groove, we put 'em together with a bunch of other players who can't be derailed. Everyone sounds great. Everyone plays. Everyone has a good time.
(btw, that SuperReverb - BF'd with Celestions sounds particularly interesting to me. nyuk nyuk nyuk.)
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Everyone plays "nice"...
(And there's nothin' like getting smoked off the stage by an 8 yr- old, I always say.)
Shine your light.
We went up to Auburn yesterday to check out the club, and this is a nice little place. The stage area is small, but it'll work nicely.
Here's a tip for attendees - follow m-n-m's driving directions, then continue to the first street west past the club. Turn right (the only direction you can turn) and go down the short hill to a parking lot on the right. Street parking is extremely limited and it's a three hour maximum, but we can park in this lot all afternoon, according to the bartender at the club.
The club's back door opens out onto this lot, so load-in and load-out will be easy. It's an alarmed door, so the club people will have to open it for us from the inside.
They'll be opening at noon next Saturday.
Thanks again, m-n-m, for setting this up - one week and counting. Woo hoo!
Small stage area you say? Hmmmmmm, that's my kinda place! The smaller the stage, the less guitar players you have playing all at once. Mmmmmmmmm, less guitar players playing at once.
Wait,......did I say that or just think it? Hmmmmm.
I am so looking forward to meeting you folks. The Sacto area jams have been legend for a long time now. Aren't you people the ones that got this whole "Jam Thing" going in the first place on the other forum?
Regrettably I won't be able to bring an amp so I'm hoping to syphon some amp useage from someone there. It's one less amp cluttering up the place!
The question remains though, of which guitar to bring. I'll probably decide as I'm walking out the door friday. Can't wait to meet everyone.
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
I would not worry about amps, at the last one, I was confused as to which amp to plug into, there were so many of them...

Yes, T-B, you're right.
The first NorCal Jam was the first jam ever held which was an official "The Other Forum" Jam. Many have followed, but we were the first.
Wow! I am proud to be a part of that heritage. You guys inspired me to host/co-host the 8 "other forum" jams that have happened out here in the east, as well as my "Jam Across America Tour".
Just a few more days to go!
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Unless one was held before I found TFF, this will be the first "Official TFF Jam" as well. Although I'm sure other TFF'ers have gotten together on a small scale, I'm not aware of any previous TFF jam of this magnitude.
Apologies to the organizer(s) of previous events if I'm mistaken.
In any case, congrats to m-n-m for stepping forward to coordinate this weekend's event.
This is gonna be fun . . .
I have also received confirmation from a former bandmate that he'll be able to attend. This guy is a KILLER bass player.
Others who play bass may want to bring their rig to give him a break. I'm sure he'd appreciate it.
So SacBlues, I assume we'll be playing a bunch of tunes in Eb minor? Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
I've got harps in all 12 diatonic keys, and major/minor doesn't bother me one way or the other. Bring it on, bud!
Bwahahahahaha back at 'ya.
LOL! It backfired on me!
For what it's worth, I only like to play in keys that line up well with the dots on the guitar neck.
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
I'm bringing my '66 Super Reverb. Anyone is welcome to use it.
Oooooooooooooo, now you're talkin' MikeH. Love them BFSR's!
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
WOOHOO!!!
LET'S GET IT ON.
4:20, my favorite time of day.
Get it on
Bang a gong
Get it on ... T. Rex
If you believe in love
Lets get it on
Come on
If the spirit moves you
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Everybody have fun tonight,
Everybody wang chung tonight.
Sorry, I thought all those bands were interchangable.
4:20, my favorite time of day.
I can't sing. Normally I sing several but I'm still recovering from bronchitis and I'm getting there but I'm not there yet. I tried singing in my middle-range today and got through two songs before my pipes started giving out. Forget about my upper range, where I usually sing.
I need to get my pipes back for the band and as much as I love you guys, the band is the priority.
I'll play anything anyone wants me on, I'll play slide, Tele, even baritone (yeah, I'll bring it) but unless I make WAAAAY more progress than I expect to, I won't be able to sing.
I'll even let Tele-Bob use my Hullett amp as long as he uses MY guitar (the Tele) for one song. But I can't sing.
Sorry.
Well, as instructed, I've written a I-IV mindless funk tune incorporating the words "I'm starting to twitch." It started out being kind of upbeat, then turned into a sort of rant about stuff, and girlfriends, and my old boss... hey, kind of like the stuff you read on an online forum!
It will require about three margaritas to get me to sing it, though.
My treat, Scott. (Strat or Heritage? Strat or Heritage? He's tossin' in his sleep.)It will require about three margaritas to get me to sing it, though.
Pete, you're not gonna infect us all now, are ya? Gargle with salt water.
Holy Smokes Annie, I was just 40 minutes from waking up this morning when you made your last post here.
I'm thinking Heritage just because there will be lots of Strats and Teles present and I like to blend different sounds. We'll see. I probably won't know till I'm walking ouit the door for the airport.

Well, TB, I actually woke in the middle of the night (unusual for moi). Sometimes the adrenalin from work doesn't dissipate like it should.
TB- I wish you'd bring yer numero uno Tele...Let Scott do the Heritage. You gize work it out. Butting out, now.

It's been a tough month.
OK Annie. I have a carved top Tele with P90s and a 1998 Collectors Edition Tele.
Are you into traditional "Tele Twang", or perhaps something in a gibsonesque, P90 vibe.
Perhaps I'll bring the carved top so I'll have something a little different to blend with. (unless of course there's a protest) he he
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Bring 'em both as your two carry-ons and forget about bringing a change of clothes.
Wait. You're staying with us.
Never mind.
Naah, bring the carved-top. I got the trad-vibe covered.Originally posted by Tele-Bob

Of course, you'll be begging to buy my Deluxe once you play through it. Not for sale.
That Hullett is sweet, Pete. I'd love to blow harp through it, but it'd require some tube swaps to lower the gain (to eliminate feedback), so I'll stick with my Spirit Harp Pro.
Three days and counting . . .
Well, I do have a re-capped '77 Deluxe Reverb with a Weber P12NT speaker in it that has a wicked good vibe. The Rivera is a real sweetheart too, but I am of course open to trying new things as well. Lay it on me bro. Lets see if we can get some smoke to come out the back of it!
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Randy, that Harp Pro is *perfect* for you. I've told you before that your tone is the best I've heard since Butter at The Last Waltz. You're one of the best, my friend.Originally posted by Sacblues

Hey guys, are we expecting any attendees from "the other side"?
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Don't know, don't care as long as it's not RR, AC or CG.Originally posted by Tele-Bob

That would be me. :nelson
Me too.

Right on guys.
Having given this trip some thought, and remembering that my connection in Chicago always has me walking a good mile and a half to the next gate, it looks like I'll bring my Robert Cray Strat in a gig bag. I don't want to risk taking the carved top Tele in a gig bag. Throw it over my shoulder and hoof it! The excitement builds.
