    Help ID'ing vintage acoustic.

You guys know more about everything. Maybe you can help. What is this?

Ok, this is what I do know. Double neck acoustic. Top side appears to be 9-string slide. Bottom, 6 string. Body has a second chamber; I assume was experimental to get more volume out of it.

Bridge probably broke or came out and was covered with this mother of Pearle "cover" for looks.

Body Bird-Eye Maple, except the top. Has been played a lot. Very thin frets and well worn, as well as area around pickguard.

Abalone inlays, multi piece necks, decent craftsmanship, great inlay work with metal as part of the inlay.

Only markings, E.P. on the headstock.

    My guess on age: 1900-1930.

    Ok, here are the photos...

Yes, that is our white carpet, and yes, I know that is crazy to have white carpets with two young boys.....

    Thanks for your help.

    Well, more to the saga.

The guitar bid up to $300.00. The guy backed out and said he could not "contact the seller". We have been receiving e-mails from all sorts of people about the guitar.

My wife is a stay a home mom. She answers all e-mails within an hour and they can also call us according to eBay rules.

I made sure we reported this guy...

Dropped down to $230.00, but today it went back to $300.00!

Talk about an eBay success story.

Starts at 35.00 goes up to 300.00 back down to 232.00 then to 305.00 and sits there all week.

In the last 60 seconds it bids up from 305.00 to $538.00...

    That was exciting...
