    Carbon Fiber Pickguard

Anybody know where I could get one?
I want to mod my Highway 1 with a carbon fiber pickguard and some new pickups.

    Thanks.

    ????

The mg's of excess weight shaved off, compared to plastic or bakelite, could result in increased power in my serve and greater control in my backhand.
    ;^D

So would it be a dark gray of some sort? Heck, just about anything goes with Oly White. Just wondering.

If you can determine how "pretty cheap" one with either no neck p'up rout, or a mini-HB rout would be, drop me an e-mail.

I was just going to have it be natural colored. The carbon fiber will be showing through a clear matrix, like the car hoods. looks like they'll cost about $5 to make, so I figure they should sell for about $20, right?

Exactlly. I want to see the carbon through the clear.
I think, that on my Honey Blonde Tele it should look wild.

frank, i have never had any static problems with any of my guitars. so i really don't know, sorry i couldn't be of more help. if you went with the bk guard, you would have the logo on it which might be cool. another trick of mine is using wallpaper as guard material, i super glue it on. i did another guard for the same friend using that trick. it was on a black sg, and i used gold metallic wallpaper with raised a fury paisley type design, very cool!

I'm working with a friend and we're looking at two different processes to make them. We are also thinking about headstock overlays and a carbon fiber ashtray. Another thought is you send me your body, I plane it and bond an entire carbon fiber top on the guitar. I'll keep you upddated, but it's backburnered for now to make time for other stuff.

frank, thank you very much. i thought it was quite clever. a bit hard to do, but the end results were killer. and no you aren't the only person with static problems. i can tell you first hand that the bass player for duncan sheik has a really bad static problem, trust me i witnessed first hand. right before i threatened duncan, but that is another story for another time.
