Early 80's our guitar player was dead set on an S1, I helped him refinish his 60's Strat for a better trade in, (should have bought it from him). We drove to the music store 120 mi away to pick it up, and he was just in heaven. 6 months later, it was sitting in the case in my garage, he had moved on to a headless guitar he picked up somewhere. Years later I asked him about it, said he gave it to his wife's brother!

    There's a reason they don't sell.

I remember buying back my old L6-S and the bitter disappointment that followed. Can't believe I ever liked the guitar! LOL!

I knew nothing about guitars when I was 19, and now being a retired Luthier, I know lots of stuff. so I'm pretty sure I can either fix or adjust the things I didn't like about it, thought it's been so long I can't remember what I didn't like about it.... I'm hoping someone else bids on it so I don't have to pay that much for it, but part of me really wants it too.... It's nostalgia I think!

Boy, do I know that feeling! Guitar auctions can be very stressful. What happens if you win???

A few years ago, I saw a Gibson SG I really liked, so I bid on it. I thought my bid was awfully low, so when I saw another identical (except for the color) I decided to buy it. Imagine my surprise when the next day my low bid was accepted and I'd won the auction. I now have two nearly identical SGs (that I almost never play).

At least you're prepared lest one of them happens to get stolen.
