Uhhh...SCORE! Too Good Not to Share!!!

How about a vintage 1973 Yamaha FG260 12-string in closet-near-mint condition?!! ...for $299 plus shipping.

I know the images won't stay linkable for long, but I promise to get some when it arrives.

    Can I get a "DAMN, Son!!!" ?

The seller said it sat in his closet for almost 50 years untouched. How? Wuuuut?

My early '70's Epi 12 string was left in it's case for years with full string tension and the neck block came loose and it caved in the top around the front of the soundhole. Then I made it worse by slathering some epoxy in it in an attempt to repair it.

I had a similar experience. A friend's sister had a guitar custom made for her some 45 years ago, with the intention of learning how to play. Short story: She didn't, and my friend got it and promptly put it in his basement. And forgot about it.

As he was preparing to sell his house, he came across it, and not wanting to just toss it, he gave it to me. So...

    1. Custom (hand)made nylon string classical guitar.
    2. Untouched for nearly half a century.
    3. Original strings, original case, original everything.

Almost still in tune when I opened the case. Action was perfect, intonation was perfect -- with nearly 50 year-old strings, no less!

I can only think "mummification." With a closed case, no air, no humidity, no disturbance. Wowza!

Nice score! 70's Yamaha acoustics are nice guitars.

I just acquired an FG230 Red Label that needs a neck set. Action is too high. Not by much, but enough to make me not play it.
