    Bright switch mods:

On this '69 Bandmaster Reverb (as well as my Super Reverb), theres a 120pF capacitor bridging the vol & the switch. Doing a little investigation on this, I ran across a video in which the guy recommends swapping out the stock value for a 47pF, which he says eliminates the shrillness. The 47pF is found stock on the Deluxe Reverb. Anyone ever heard of doing this?

Once you turn the amp up to fightin' level it doesn't matter.

FWIW, when I play a Fender amp I usually dime the amp and set the guitar's volume to 1 or 2. That's where the "bloom" lives. It's an old player's trick, but a good one. Especially if you like that rootsy/bluesy organic sound - think Clapton in the 70's.
