    Fender Super Six (Deluxe) Reverb

Last year I was offered the opportunity to buy a Super Six Reverb, which I turned down, but later got curious about the amp and when I inquired again, it was gone. So I decided to "mock up" one of these just for fun. The lower cabinet contains four Weber 10A125 alnico speakers wired to produce a 4 ohm load. The upper cabinet contains two Fender (Eminence) V1030 ceramic speakers, also wired for 4 ohms. I plugged the cabinets into a series box I made and then to the 8 ohm speaker jack on my 1977 Deluxe Reverb. Boy that thing is LOUD! I can't see how the Super Six Reverb was even a practical amp. I believe they were the same circuit as the Quad Reverb, Vibrosonic Reverb, Dual Showman Reverb and Twin Reverb 100 Watt, master volume models.

Have any of you guys ever played a Super Six Reverb?

It wasn't. Which is why so few of them were made......world's first crew-served combo amp.

After building several 2 x 10 Deluxe Reverb conversions for clients, I performed a feasibility study of a 4 x 10 variant. The results were inspiring but the project never went beyond the design stage.

    I'd like a mismatched DR with a 12 and an 8.

One of the old tricks we used to do was throw a horn laying in the bottom of the cab into the extension jack. Added that bit of zing.

It's probably a good thing I didn't buy it then. Although if I could get one cheap and in need of repairs, it might make a good candidate for a Twin Reverb build. I have confirmed all of the amps in my original post use the identical schematic and transformers, except the Vibrosonic Reverb used a different output transformer than the others. If the 6 original speakers were in good condition, someone would probably be willing to pay for them.

Most Super Six Reverb's I've examined were equipped with ceramic Oxford's but a few sported the CTS alnico's. Those might be worth buying with the intention of parting them out. A matched sextet of CTS speakers would be worth big $$$.
