Found this on Reverb. Just ordered a lefty from them in gold. Above is a link for you right paws. The price has dropped by $200. Looks like a reputable seller.

Got my 20th Anniversary Edition four years ago. Nice bass (JC is a favorite of mine). Had a little looseness around the jack, but otherwise a terrific guitar!

I had remembered you had bought one, and I did a forum search to piggyback on your post but couldn’t find it. I knew you are a fan of Casady and immediately think of you whenever I see these. Love the color of yours. This will be my first instrument painted gold.

And you will likely do it more credit that I ever could. I'm not a bass player, and only rarely toodle around with one. Only when I want to get into a funky sort of groove.

My dealer had them for $200 off, and Epiphone is no longer listing lefties. Discontinued or a new model coming?

Epiphone and the Chinese factory they’re using have their shitz together. Superb workmanship, sound, and feel. Slightly important to me, they have the correct pots on it for lefties. It’s beautiful too.

Sound-wise, it’s closer to my Explorer bass than to a hollow body like my Höfner. The pickup is powerful , and the varitone switch is incredibly useful for a range of tones.

For now, I don’t know why I’d mod it in any way. Too, I already have flats on my Ric, fretless Jazz, and Höfner, so for now, I’m going to play it with the excellent sounding round wounds.

I also have the Epiphone Korina (solid, not laminate) Explorer bass and a Casino, surprisingly excellent Chinese guitars. I owned three Epiphones before that had so much poly on them, the bodies looked like they had thick glass encasing them and the pickups sucked butt. Now, Epiphone has redeemed itself. I’d put them slightly above the quality of Epiphones in the golden years of their Korean builds.

Very nice score. Epiphones these days are an incredible value and very well made. The gold top JC would be my choice, too. Congrats on your new bass guitar!

    Pics, or it didn't happen!

One thing I like is that Casady actually plays one of these, unmodified, as far as I know. He spec'ed it out with Epiphone, so there's that...

as soon as I get my gear set up, I’m going to try to make a vid with it.

Got mine last September for $599...the sale lasted longer than any sale I've ever seen.

Have you had any experience with the jack connection or control knobs loosening? I had to tighten up a couple on mine.

No issues at all. If it weren’t for arthritis, I’d be gigging it. It’s pretty reliable. One thing about Epiphones: though quality has improved so much, their wiring is still iffy.
