In my youth, the name Pelé was synonymous with "soccer." The Brazilian soccer champ is the only player in soccer history with three World Cups under his belt.
Soccer in the USA has grown enormously since I was a kid, but it still doesn't eclipse (American) football, baseball or basketball. Still, the world has lost another legend.
