I just found the original lyric sheet I wrote about 1992. It probably won't come across as "poetry", but I never recorded it so here it is:
Absinthe House (rumba in G)
If you're down in New Orleans out on Bourbon Street
Go to the Absinthe House & you'll see Bryan Lee
He's got a Gibson guitar, his band's the Jump Street Five
Five nights a week they keep the blues alive
Chorus:
He's got a mojo hand
He's got that gris-gris too
He's a Hoodoo man
He knows just what to do
He plays in an open window from ten to three
So if you ain't got no money, you can hear from the street
He makes that guitar sing, he makes that guitar weep
He'll thrill your soul from your head to your feet
Chorus/solo
Now the Jump Street Five plays down a solid groove
That gives Bryan Lee lots of room to move
He's bringin' it up, he's breakin' it down
Best blues guitar for miles around
Chorus
