Good Deal on a Fender Vintera 50s Precision Bass

on Amazon right now, sold by fender.com. $824.99! That's $275 off the MSRP of $1099. Only in Sea Foam Green, but that's a great color! Don't know how long this price will hold so if you are in the market, the time to buy is now!

    Pretty sweet deal!

I'm not a big fan of the gold-anodized pickguard w/Seafoam Green but that could easily be swapped out.

    Ya done good!

On the other hand, I think the gold anodized pickguard and gold hardware looks awesome on a Sherwood Green guitar.

Does anyone know why there are 4 extra holes drilled in the pick guard? I don't mind the gold pickguard.

The two holes flanking the pickup facilitate the installation of a chrome pickup cover while the pair adjacent to the G string are used to affix a tug bar. Both accouterments were a standard fit on the original (as Leo designed it) P Bass.

That makes sense. I didn't think it was a manufacturing error.

Back in 1961 when I was playing an original Fender Precision I don’t think the pickguard was gold anodized, it was brass. It’s 60+ years ago so the memory fades a bit.
