Looks like one of them (Paul?) is playing a 5F6 tweed Bassman.

I saw a YT video not long ago that discussed the Beatles amplifiers. Sorry I don't remember the exact title, but could probably find it again if pressed. I don't recall any Fender Bassman amps until the late 60's, although John had a Fender Vibro(something) from around 1960.

Edit: I think this is the YT video

I saw that, and was also curious about the guitar George is playing

I've got the Beatles Gear book, and though I don't have the time or inclination at the moment to go through it carefully, I did flip quickly and didn't see any mention of Bassmans. John did have an early |Fender Deluxe around that time, and George had a Gibson GA40. Paul was also using a Selmer Truvoice amp that belonged to |George around that time as well.

    |That Beatles Gear book mentions that George had a Futurama guitar around that time - there's a couple pics of him playing a guitar that looks like the one linked. Guessing that's what it is./

In a similar vein, Mike McCartney, Paul's brother, says he's found the first color photo of the group, from 1958 when they were performing as The Quarrymen.

Perhaps it is a 5E3 Deluxe.

It's obviously a tweed Fender *something*, I'll leave it to you Beatle fans to figure it out.

    I'll ask Andy about it.
