    Possible trade day

Going to see about a trade today.
I have a Lakland 55-02 Ltd Ed that used to be owned by Steve Miller. It’s gotten zero play time since I got my Dingwall. Missing from the bass arsenal are a Jazz and a Fretless.

Hoping to get a Squier CV 40th anniversary JB and a Squier CV 60s JB Fretless and some coin for the Lakland.

I don’t care who owned a base, the important thing is how it plays. I’ve never picked up a Dingwall much less played one so have no reference on that. I have played a 55-94 Lakland for 24 years and absolutely love the instrument. I’ve owned a couple of fretless basses and still have the ‘63 and ‘65 J and P Fenders I purchased new but prefer the Lakland.

A fine collection of Fender basses......I've always been a sucker for Jazz Basses with the tuxedo neck.

The 55-02 was a great sounding and playing bass. Issue was it was over 12 lbs. very heavy.

    Re: Possible trade day

And another trade today. Traded my Gretsch White Falcon for a Gretsch 6xxx Setzer Hot Rod and a Sterling Stingray. It’s not like I didn’t like the Falcon, but it’s pricy, and still 8 years later my wife still thinks it my exes fav guitar. Whenever I played it, there was a “discussion”. So it’s gone. The Setzer plays and sounds great (it’s lighter that the Falcon and plays better). The surprise was the Stingray. I knew it was no slouch, but getting it home and playing it for an hour, it is truly sweet. Much better than anticipated.

My wife never complains, but my sister in law can't stand it when I show up with a "new" guitar. She asks me if I ever will be happy with one, I tell her I'm always happy with the one I'm playing!
(She has benefited from some of my trades, her favorite acoustic is a 90's Washburn Cumberland A/E with more than a shell full of Abalone on it, I got a good deal, and so did she!)

The wife is good with this as it’s no cash outlay and it isn’t encroaching in her office.

Haven’t found one I can trade for yet. Found them to buy outright, so I may go that path.

Either color will work. Was originally leaning White, but now with the white and gold CV60s JBass, I may go boring with the 2 tone burst. I could sneak that in easier as it falls into my wife’s category that “it looks the same” LOL
