    Quarantine Blues (slight return)

So, after nearly a year dealing with COVID related issues, here we go again.

Wife tested positive this evening, after having had a rough night (sore throat and sneezing). I’m taking care of her and will surely be sick too.

Another quarantine, one more time in a lazaretto.

    FUCK THIS SHIT!

    Rant off. Sorry.

Just curious my friend…did you and your sweetie get the vaccinations and boosters? Locally, friends who have gone through the shot regimen say the effects of the COVID have been lessened for them. My wife and I have been lucky to have avoided all COVID issues so far.

We did. She is a sanitary agent, so she already has 4 jabs. I got 3, was just about to get the 4th, as they’re giving the 4th shot to people between 40 and 50 years old now

A friend did a bout with COVID a couple of weeks ago and he said it “put him down for the count”. He has had all the “jabs” and said he thought the virus would have killed him without the vaccinations.

The worship leader in our church has come down with COVID for the THIRD time. He's also fully vaccinated. Makes you wonder, if the vaccinations work, why don't they work?

Vaccines help avoiding real bad cases.

That's the current sales pitch. There isn't any real evidence to support it.

A vaccine by definition is supposed to be taken as a prophylactic to prevent infection.

I hope you both heal up soon.

Not sure if we’ll ever get a hold of this one soon. It’s odd and we don’t know everything about it that we think we do.

Back before the jabs, remember they had antibody tests. I tested positive for them 3x before even getting jabbed. My first positive antibody test was mid- lateDec 2019. I had never had COVID-19.
As odd, I had already been exposed to it twice starting is Aug- Sept 2019 before we even knew about it. (Consistent long term contact with someone who was in China). In total I have been exposed 17 times and never got it. Knock on wood.

Let’s go back over a decade. Had a really bad respiratory infection. Real bad. Dr didn’t know what specially it was. We later came to know this as SARS.

Both are type of Corona-virus. Hmmm

Pretty sure I've had it twice now. Testing was not widely available the first time, but I lost my sense of smell & taste. That was in Feb of 2021. The 2nd time, I got sick the day my wife received a positive test result in late January (almost a year after my 1st infection). She had already recovered by the time she got the results. Pretty mild cases both times, the 2nd time around I gargled w/a 2.5% dilute solution of iodine about twice a day.
Never been vaccinated & never will be. 99.9294% survival rate for my age group, but you'd be hard pressed to find that info anymore. It was posted on the cdc website but it's been scrubbed

Agreed. Vaccine or no vaccine, I don't wish illness on anyone. Praying that you get through this.
