Fender Vibro Champ Gets New Grill Cloth

Since I had some left over Fender style grill cloth from my 4 x 10 speaker cabinet build, I decided to use it on my home made 2 x 10 Vibro Champ cabinet. It was easier to get it lined up straight than the 4 x 10 cabinet. I heated up the flat end of a small drill bit over a candle to melt the fibers of the grill cloth prior to drilling the holes for the Fender badge, to avoid the drill bit grabbing one of the fibers and creating a snag. Overall I think it looks a lot nicer than the previous grill cloth I had installed using some burlap style fabric and this grill cloth probably provides greater protection for the speakers as it's quite tough.

Any particular reason why the cloth is affixed with the reverse side out?

Dang it! User error. I will blame it on the heat. Since there are now holes where the Fender logo is attached, it will have to stay that way. You can't really tell from the photo below, but the vertical lines are not as visible as in my new 4 x 10 cabinet which does have the grill cloth with the correct side showing.

It looks better than my Bandmaster combo convo. I wanted period correct grillcloth but the only piece I could find at the time was from some kind of small bass amp. The only way it would fit was to put it sideways, lol
