    Custom Shop Neck With Waterslide?

just purchaed this Fender Custom Shop neck from a very reputable dealer that I have gotten many authentic Fender Necks/Bodies and apparently has a waterslide logo on it? that doesn't seem legit even though the neck definitely feel like a Fender neck. can anybody clarify why there would be a waterslide logo? does Fender use them and clear over them on their necks and I just can't tell with my other Fenders? The back doesn't seem to have waterslide logos for thew Custom Shop and Artist Signature

If that came from the STRATOsphere, then I'd guess that it is legit even though I haven't seen one before. Those guys are straight-shooters, even if pricey
A waterslide decal on top of the finish is common on reissues, custom shop, & signature models.

as soon as I saw the stock # tag I immediately thought "Yep, Stratosphere"

I've bought a lot of stuff from them, they are legit even if they are not exactly discount bin pricing

A water slide decal is an image printed on clear film with a water soluble adhesive. You soak it in water to dissolve the adhesive, remove the backing, and put it on a product. They're commonly used in plastic model kits. Fender has used them since the beginning to put their logo on the headstock. The decal was put over the finish on early guitars because they apparently couldn't figure out how to clear over it without the decal wrinkling (though those of us who build models have no problem with it). The decal is applied over the finish on reissue guitars as well.

Stratosphere parts out guitars and sells the bodies, necks, whole carcasses, parts, etc... It can be a fun way (though not the cheapest way) for a hobbyist to assemble a guitar.

they've actually moved not terribly far from an old job of mine. I wonder what it would be like to work there?
