    Les Paul 50s Wiring

I am having a hard time with a simple job.

I'm trying to wire a harness into my 83 Ibanez Artist.

Diagrams don't make sense to me.

If you have a cleanly wired humbucker with 50s wiring the best (but I'll take what I can get), would you take a picture of the wiring and then a shot of the body with the wiring still showing?

I don't know if this is of any help. The guitar was sold, so I don't have any other pics. The leads on the outer tab of the pots are the pickups, the wires on the center tabs (wiper) of the pots go to the switch.

The tone capacitors are also wired the the center tabs of the pots.

That's a pretty clean wiring job right there. I've always hated wiring Les Pauls

This will be absolutely no help, but I wanted to post it to make you thankful you aren't trying to wire a Les Paul Traditional Pro, with coil splitting (push pull switches on the volume pots). There are wires going every which way.

Thanks, Michael. Don's looks like what I'm trying to do. I'm still a bit confused because I'm left handed.

Ok, Don: that is the best wiring I've ever seen in one.

If we said the pots were labeled as they're place in your guitar:

    A----B
    C----D

    What would they be?

Also, the one wire that bends around the four pots--the space where it's not got one. Is that the pickup side of your guitar or the jack side?

I'm terrible with directions, and the lefty righty thing is giving me a brain stab.

Thanks for the help. I am much indebted as always.

Rather than answer your questions, I mirrored the image and marked it up. Let me know if this works for you.
