Amp Settings on Mustang GTX 100 for Hendrix

Does anyone have any suggestions about the preset to use for playing Hendrix? Hey Joe, Wind Cries Mary. I just bought the amp. I am not crazy about all the presets on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a strat that I am using with the amp

I don't have that particular Mustang, but this might at least get you started. Hendrix typically used a Wah, an Octaver, a Fuzz, and a Uni-vibe, in that order, from guitar to amp.

Remember, his equipment is ancient by today's standards, so you may have some difficulty getting the exact sound. The Wah was likely a Cry-Baby. The Octaver brand doesn't matter much; keep it simple. You can use a distortion pedal if you don't have a fuzz, just max out the gain setting. And now, my favorite: The Uni-Vibe. I hav the FullTone MDV-3 Mini Deja Vibe, but Dunlop makes the JHM7 Jimi Hendrix Uni-Vibe if you're really after that tone.

Personally, I think the Uni-Vibe makes the difference. I chase the Robin Trower sound, and he and Hendrix used very similar setups.

Good luck, and welcome to TFF!

Jimi's live rigs were typically Marshall 100-watt Super Lead Plexi's but Sunn and (occasionally) Fender amps were also seen on-stage. IIRC the entire "Are You Experienced" album was recorded with a Twin Reverb and some of the tracks were actually laid down with a Telecaster.
