Yup, It's The Sunday Thread for Jan. 9, 2022

If nothing else, typing the title of this thread is good exercise in typing the new year, 2022. Remember when we used to write checks? I used to mentally gear myself up to writing the new year, and inevitably would slip up at least once. Kind of like a rite of passage. That hasn't been the case for the past I-dunno-how-many years.

We are having a bit of a winter-type spell in the mid-Atlantic. Two non-consecutive days with snow, and an expected icefall today. Looking out my window, there's no precip at present, but it's supposed to occur before noon. Might keep me away from church if it does.

Something in the universe re-aligned itself last night. For several days I've been having issues with technology: My Internet connection would get flaky, Bluetooth would argue about connecting, my robovac didn't want to join my LAN, even my humidifier didn't want to keep my guitars comfy. Suddenly, it's all working again. I'm not taking any credit for the tweaking and snooping I've been doing. Just happy that it's all working and crossing my fingers. I have a training this week, so I don't need any tech issues.

Here's hoping everyone is enjoying their Sunday. Anything new in your world?

Feeling lazy. Have to paint. Enough said.

Movers are here and loading. Still had packing to do. Later is cleaning. Tomorrow AM we are on the road for a 1000 mile move. Moving from FL to IN so my wife can be closer to her family.

we had snow on Friday. The sidewalks are still not cleared off yet so there's no walking down to the casino bar for a while. Just as well, trying to curb spending. At least we were spared icing as it was single digits at midnight and raining now. Probably head to the gym after I caffeinate for a while and play some guitar.

Had an urge to listen to Bowie this morning, kept hearing Panic In Detroit in my head. I haven't heard that in years so I put Alladin Sane on Spotify. Be interesting to see what the AIs make of that choice.

I think we have a guest in the attic. My cat has been tracking something in the ceiling and it's moving around. I, of course, hear nothing. I found the back door of the garage ajar yesterday so it is entirely possible a squirrel (or hopefully not a raccoon) got in there.

My brother's date last sunday told him on Tuesday that she tested positive for Covid. So far he's tested negative. She was sick in bed for several days but apparently was feeling better yesterday.
