had a quiet ... well, except for all the fireworks around us, New Year's Eve. I elected to stay home largely on account of the fairly lousy weather. But at least it wasn't snowing, sleeting or freezing rain. All the snow in my backyard is gone. It was a good start of a new year, staying home and it will go a long way toward establishing a new 'normal'. I've been spending like a drunken sailor for too long. Now that I have a car again, going to the grocery store will be far easier and something I'm going to be doing a lot of. Paying bills today as is the routine of the first day of the month. It's great to not be sick or hungover, or both.

My wife and I had a quiet evening at home last night spent nibbling on snacks and sipping champagne while watching some of our favorite movies. After 60+ years of gigging on New Year's Eves it is a real pleasure to relax and let the nightclub hijinx to the drunken beginners.

I enjoyed a relaxing & spectacularly uneventful NYE last night working on my guitars while many of my neighbors went nuts.

We had a couple friends over for a quiet evening. I was asleep by 11:30. Cooked a small roast in an air fryer - it was delicious!
