    Walking home from the Moose

one of my hobbies is astronomy. I've long been interested in outer space stuff. Last night was the peak of the Geminid meteor shower (Monday Dec 13-Tues Dec 14) before sunrise. I looked a while ago, didn't see anything in spite pretty good condition, waxing moon notwithstanding. The air was so crisp and clear. It was 42 degrees at 9:30 PM, which is almost unheard of this late in December in NH

I don't see anything so I went to the Moose, my neighborhood bar. It's a 15 minute walk and I like it. As I approached my house I needed to pee bad so I went behind the garage. While I'm relieving myself I looked upward, and saw not one but two shooting stars. And one of them was green.

Later, went back out, saw another within 3 minutes, then nothing for the next 20 minutes. Unfortunately it is going to be cloudy tonight. Just as well, I was up late and slept late. Not much else until the Quadrantids in January.

I love astronomy as well, though I know very little about it.

I really enjoyed it when Mars was closer to Earth a few months ago, I saw and photographed it with enthusiasm.

Also, I love to try to spot Venus in the sky when it’s close to the moon.

Too bad there haven’t been too many novelties regarding Perseverance lately

Given the terrain, it's probably a good bet that a lotta folks up there drive 4x4's and SUV's.

Maybe it’s also a great place for rally racing
