    Yooooogly but lovely

If the 1st owner hadn’t been a goober and douched the neck, my friend wouldn’t have gotten it, and he wouldn’t have given it to me. And I would have missed out on the best Strat neck I ever played. I love this guitar. I know you’ve seen it before but here it is again, parading itself afore y’uns.

Def a Peecasso. And yet, it feels good and is my fave of all the Fenders I've had. Going to leave my estate to it.

Nothing ugly about that one, in my eyes.

A naturally distressed partscaster is one of the coolest strat shapes.

The reverse headstock also gives it a “fuck the rules” attitude. Adds character.

I’d love to listen to its tone.

The first owner doused the neck with oil, trying to "age" it. When I put these parts together, I sanded off a great deal of it, but the rest is there for the duration. It's okay. I'd be ashamed of trying to age a neck a this way.

My buddy, the second owner, put it on a Tokai body and played the shit out of it. I has to sand down divots in it. I put poly on it after sanding. It's a wonderfull neck now.

    I'll make recordings soon.

It's ugly but I can't stop looking at it! A righty version might be in my future, if I can get control of my current projects

    Re: Yooooogly but lovely

I have grown to love this Strat. About a year ago, I put in a set of Duncan Gilmour SSL#-DG I get glassy tones that sound vintage-y to me, but if I dig into it and crank the amp, this Strat's got bawwwwls. I was missing a 96 AmStd, CAR with a rosewood fretboard that I bought new and gigged a lot in Germany. I regret having sold it and went virtual window shopping for another. They don't make that combo in a lefty at the moment.

I pulled down my Bleckky and realized just how much I like it. It's got every tone I'd ever want out of a Strat, and for the first time, I really like the bridge pup sound on one. I can't praise those Duncans enough.

Me dear old mutter told me that instead of buying something new, clean up what you've got and you'll feel like you got something new. Wise words, Mom. I don't need a CAR Strat.

Oh yes, that's exactly the configuration. It looks classy, an uptown Saturday night kind of guitar.
