    Silverface Bassman Head

    Gang,
I have been using a Quilter TB 202 with the 12"HD Cabinet for a few months. I went that way because of the weight (2 hernias in same spot). I CANNOT get what I want out of the Quilter. Just stale sounding. Can someone tell me how much a SF Bassman Head weighs? I for the life of me can't find it online.
    Thanks fellas.
    Tommy

I don't know off the top of my head, but personal experience says they weren't too heavy. Certainly not in the Marshall big box 100 watt range, and absolutely not in the Ampeg V-4/SVT range. I think most any cab would be heavier than a Bassman head.

My silverface '67 Bandmaster head tips the scales at 31˝ lbs. The Bassman is essentially the same layout save for beefier iron in the output stage. I'd guess it weighs right at thirty-three pounds.
