    What's the old line? "There's no money to be made above the fifth fret?" Does that apply to basses, too?

    I hang on the lower notes except for a flurry when it works. I might work my way up the neck on a build up. I find people boogie better when your bass bops to the low low low down. And all of this depends on what the song needs.
