    Dude, last night…

… I bought a dark bread cheddar cheeseburger with onions, and opened the fridge to get some Tabasco and ketchup. Then I saw a bottle of shoyu and tried it instead.

You guys oughta try it! Just sayin…

i had to google it. Kikkoman soy sauce is shoyu. much simpler than chinese style, more organic. I think I used to have a bottle of that stuff. Probably threw it out for being 10 years past its expiration date

I had bluefin tuna carpaccio and charred Spanish octopus. Sublime.

Sublime indeed but in my family's book, charring octopus just doesn't do it justice. We love seafood (my old man used to be a big game fisherman and did lots of sub hunting). Octopus is one of our favorite dishes and we always prepare it "the Spanish way" as we call it. Cooked in salt water with a bit of red wine, onions and potatoes. Add olive oil, fresh chives and parsley ad libitum when it's ready.
