    1963 Vibroverb production

Does anybody know of pre-production ‘63 Vibroverbs. Production serial numbers seem to start at 100. Mine is in the fifties. Circuit, transformers and speakers are original and standard. There is no indication of a tube chart ever being fitted, and the inside of the cabinet is unpainted. Any info welcomed.

Can't say specifically about the 6G16 but I do know that there were several 6G13 Vibrasonic prototypes built and sold prior to its "official" release. A few of those didn't even receive serial numbers. It's possible that the introduction of the Vibroverb may have followed a similar protocol. If instead you're referring to the blackface AA763/AB763 variant, disregard the above.

My Vibroverb has a serial number A 04565 it's an AB763 chassis with the grey magnet/light blue frame James B Lansing speaker if that's any help.

The standard speaker for a blackface Vibroverb was a ceramic CTS driver with the P/N of 5815025. It's possible that Oxford's 15M6 was also used. The D130F JBL was a dealer-installed upgrade
