Mustang I (First Gen) Amp Question

Can I disconnect the speaker from my Mustang I (First Gen) amp so that I can use it direct into my computer and turn it up for recording but not have the sound go through the speaker?
I would like to use the amp and all of its features without having other members of my household have to hear it too!
I am under the impression that it is safe to sue a solidstate amp without the speaker connected.
    Any ideas?

Likely you will overdrive the input of your computer by using that method, resulting in possible damage to it or the amp itself.

Does the amp have a pre-amp or line-out jack or some other digital interface connector?

There is the USB port and a headphone/stereo output jack.

The USB port is likely your best bet.

Re: Mustang I (First Gen) Amp Question

I actually amp using the USB to connect the amp now. It works fine, of course, I just want to be able to crank the amp and not have the whole house have to hear it. I was hoping I could disconnect the internal speaker in the amp and use the amp (quietly) through the USB connection as I currently have it
