The Sunday Thread for Feb. 21

That's it. It's just February 21. Nothing special happening today. No holidays or special events. Not around here, anyway.

Spring is trying to insinuate itself. The sun has begun showing its Spring face, but the temperature is saying no, not yet. Another week or so, still. In fact, the fabled "wintery mix" is due in tomorrow again.

Today is church, reading, some finger stretching exercise, both on and off guitar, and a little prep for the training I'm doing tomorrow and Tuesday.

    Have a good one, everybody!

Not planning much today. The sun is out and it promises to be decent day. More snow on tap for tomorrow. Last week was a killer, work-wise, so I'm in need of a day of rest. Also, after several meetings and interviews this week, it looks like my search committee for Discovering Amistad has found an Executive Director. That will be great for the organization.

    Have a great week everyone!

Re: The Sunday Thread for Feb. 21

relatively early day today, no particular reason other than my cat is happy to see me up. A moderate Saturday night helped by the chilly conditions helped. Today it's a little on the cool side, sunny and breezy. I have to get off my duff and start walking more. No excuses really, getting lazy. Noticed a little huffing going uphill somewhere I normally don't even notice and that has to stop, post haste. The knee is feeling vastly better and that dreadful backache is just an unpleasant memory.

I can almost blame guitar for not getting out during daylight. Yesterday I'm not sure, but I think I played well over 2, close to 3 hours in the middle of the afternoon. I did warm up exercises before (well, actually about 10 minutes after I started ). This little keyboard I got last week has paid multi-fold benefits I never even imagined. Saturday I worked on the C minor scale and the chords within it. I actually made myself stop to prevent overuse injury. It wasn't that long ago it was hurting me to type. I've been diligently keeping my hands warm and it has paid off. I'm trying to think of what to do next, I'm thinking of going through the cycle of 5ths. One key at a time. Suggestions are welcome

It's getting time to do laundry again, the hampers are loaded to the brink. How can this be? I already did it once this year and it's not even March yet

I always say what I'm going to do on a Sunday, and then I wind up doing something completely different.

So today, I'm going to do that thing that I might not do if I do something else.

    Have a great Sunday!

It's a nice sunny day here today and we expect rain, not snow, tomorrow.

I doubt we'll get out- my wife is dealing with sciatica on her right leg caused by treating the damaged ankle and knee on her left leg (that should be in the ravages of time thread).

I may take advantage of that and go downstairs and jam for a while before my son and his girlfriend get here.

Haha - same here! I was hoping to finish my telecaster build today, but my last little bits and pieces have been stuck in Memphis all week. I hope they don’t disappear completely! Literally $20 worth of parts (ferrules and pick guard screws) to finish the job.

Rejigged my studio desk to a stand-up configuration yesterday. Humped a lot of heavy stuff around yesterday and now have some lower back pain. Too uncomfortable to stand up for very long and although it’s a brilliant skiing day here, unless my back loosens up, I won’t be hitting the trails. Hopefully tomorrow.

Not sure what I’ll do for the rest of the day!

My wife and I celebrated year number thirty-four with dinner and friends last night so today I’m recovering. It was a fun night, but snow is on the way and I’m back to shoveling in the morning.
