    Re: RIP Chick Corea

    Indeed.

From Chick Corea I learned about Al Di Meola, who I consider to be one of the cleanest, fastest pickers alive. I saw Return To Forever in concert with Corea, Di Meola, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White and was totally blown away. In my pantheon of "greatest guitar licks I like hearing," Di Meola's solo in Stomu Yamashta's "Go" (Steve Winwood, Klaus Schulze, Di Meola, Michael Shrieve, et al) Live From Paris concert, Man of Leo never fails to send chills up my spine. Literally!

Sorry. This is a thread about Chick Corea. A monster of a musician and a terrific human being. R. I. P.

One of my earliest albums I bought was Return to Forever, still have it. Loved it when Chick was playing with Stanley Clarke and Jean-Luc Ponty.

    Re: RIP Chick Corea

At first, I only liked the pre-fusion C Corea. Got into the other stuff in the 80s and enjoyed it, but I keep going back to those earlier, more traditional works. t's been a while since I sat down with the Return to Forever Stuff. I want to give it a chance again.
