Any thoughts about what I'm assuming is a fake?

Greetings! This neck was attached to a squire body with mix of poorly reliced parts. The checking on the neck impressed me and it played well. I picked it up for $150 a few years ago. Anyone have any ideas of its origin with the marking shown? 06-2-8 is written in pencil and there is a stamp that says H (perhaps N) MON is all I can make out. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What exactly are your concerns, and what was it sold to you as?
    |Are you just wondering if it's a real Fender neck? Or vintage?
For $150, as long as it's a good playing neck, that's the important thing, considering Fender necks I see on Ebay for like $300, even MIM ones.
Warmoth, Allparts, USA Guitars, etc, are all at least that too.

Agreed! Purchased at a Guitar Center with a reluctant "it might be a MIJ neck". I love MIJ / CIJ Fender products and that was worth the price of admission. The dents in frets tells me its been played a lot, checking lines implied a nitro finish. I'm wondering if there is a history in the marks / stamps that might shed some light on its origin story. I'm thinking about picking up a MJT relic body to go with it.....
