Clapton, Van Morrison, Release Song Against Coronavirus Lockdowns

Not since 1976, when Clapton took a lot of (deserved) grief for intemperate comments regarding immigration has he stepped onstage to deliver anything resembling a political message. But now, he and Van Morrison (who wrote the song) have collaborated on "Stand and Deliver," a song that has lyrics calling out against what they see as tyrannical (my words, not in the lyrics).

Yeah, trying to get people to wear masks and practice safe distancing is right up there with the Russian hold over Prague.

I think there's a deeper bottom line to the lyrics, but I could be wrong.

I'm all for the sanitary precautions and the medical care for all the people, of course. But if there's a bigger picture to this whole thing as many say there is, well...

I really wish that entertainers and jocks would keep their uneducated opinions to themselves and let the scientists and informed medical people work their wonders to help humanity.
