I have always preferred Gibson (or Epiphones with real Gibson pups!), but I'd like to give a Tele another try. It has been decades since I have played one. I also played classical guitar, which was my introduction to guitars back in high school, 3-4 decades ago.
I do have a Fender Jazz Bass. It is a 30" short scale from a special run 5-10 years ago. Other than the classical, everything else is Epi. Well, I do have a sweet Gibson Flying V.
For money reasons, I will have to stick with a Squier Tele, and my budget is under $325. I always get a decent case, so I will have only $250 or so. That leaves me with two options, FSR Bullet Telecaster ($180) or a Squier Affinity Series Telecaster ($230).
Is the extra $50 worth it? What is the difference between the two? I'd love to hear your opinions!
