Having read our friend Offshore Angler's (Chuck's) thread about how he likes Jerry Garcia's independent band, which indeed is very good though I myself prefer the original Dead stuff, I thought I might share my latest listening experiences, and I happen to be hooked on Keith Richards' solo stuff.
I know there are several other Stones fans like me here, but if any of you haven't taken the time to actually check out Keef's own albums, I tell you: it's VERY MUCH worth it. This chap sure knows how to write some intimate and authentic blues, and his ballads aren't half bad either.
Funny thing is, his own albums sound like him, you can spot almost no Stones DNA thrown in. Keith is more about the Blues and Contry stuff when he does his own thing.
I strongly recommend Crosseyed Heart and Talk is Cheap.
