This photo cost me upwards of USD$3,000. It is the view of the Caribbean from my hotel room. I am effectively under house arrest, and will not be able to get out and take any others. Thanks, COVID.

OS, did anyone associated with your travel and reservations inform you of these Barbados guidelines. You should be able to go after someone to recover some damages.
Quarantine Information:
Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? Yes
Persons from High-Risk countries with a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result will be quarantined at a designated holding hotel or approved villa at their own expense, or free of charge at a government facility, and will be monitored daily for the onset of symptoms.
These persons will be quarantined for a period of 14 days with an option to take a second COVID-19 PCR test between 5-7 days after the last test accepted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Persons will typically be released once the test result is negative.
Visit barbadostravelprotocols.com for list of designated holding hotels.
Any villa to be used for the purpose for quarantine must first be approved by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Request for villa approval must be submitted to the Ministry of Health and Wellness at least 72 hours prior to travel.
Those persons who are deemed to have been in close contact with a positive case will be quarantined at approved facilities.
Thanks, Laker. Great information, but a bit too late, in my case. My understanding was that if I presented a valid PCR test taken within 72 hours I would NOT have to quarantine. So yes, I am looking into restitution from the agencies involved.

I can relate, my friend. And I've had my own share of bad trips.
Without meaning to be mean or anything bad at all, I'll just say that these stories always make me think about how lucky I am. Though in most aspects my country of origin has too many downsides (sometimes I actually think it's ALL about downsides), it does have very beautiful places. Nature has been prodigal here, just as much as in the Caribbean or California.
This is a small spot where I usually park the car, step down and watch the sunset when I take my usual 90 mile drive to play guitar with my band...
That looks like a great place to stop on a 90 mile trip, Sérgio! There is so much beauty in the world; I go looking for it often. Usually it doesn't wind up like this. I'd like to visit Brazil some day. But after this experience, I'm not going outside my country until there's an "all clear."

I'm sorry you've had this experience. I know it's exasperating and disappointing.

Absolutely. Suck though it does, best to keep a winning attitude about it.
