    FINALLY!!!

The tropical storm blew through here earlier this week and knocked out power and cable (Internet) for a huge part of the state. Luckily I had a generator, so we had power, but cable was out until sometime late last night. Cell towers around her appear to not have generators, because I could barely use my phone. No internet sucked - couldn't work online if there is no online. Anyways, catching up wit the world today! did I miss anything?

    Re: FINALLY!!!

just that comet we thought was a comet actually turned out to be a mother ship of an expeditionary task force and we now have confirmed contact with life from another world. However they found out our current state of affairs and packed up and left, posting a PSA to the rest of the Universe "No intelligence life here, stay away"

    other than that, not much

    Re: FINALLY!!!

    You missed a lot.

    I stopped making silly posts.

Sergio bought a Chinese Telecaster and sold his Jessica.

    Mike started listening to Montovani

Coyote Gator sold his guitars and bought an actual gator

PC revealed that the letters stand for "Party Chap"

Dan installed a 30 speaker system in his Kia.

Offshore Angler admitted that he hates touching fish.

And Old Strummer revealed that he's been using pics of his grampaw and that he's actually a 17 year old girl, howbeit with a handlebar mustasche.

We lost power for a day and had a generator. Cell worked fine though, so I hardly skipped a beat.

    Alligator yes.

I can’t imagine a scenario in which I would be hungry enough to eat a coyote.

You have entered the world of darkness-- You have a choice: eat coyote or listen to Bobby Sherman deep album cuts.

    Re: FINALLY!!!

    Gator might taste like chicken.

Frog legs, and rabbit, and squirrel, etc taste like chicken.

But does chicken taste like gator?

Does chicken taste like frog legs, rabbit, or squirrel?

The only thing coyote tastes like is your little lap dog Fifi...

LOL. I have either heard or read references to that song at least 3 times in the past week. Somebody referenced it on another forum, then Wednesday night the guitar player at Fratello's played that song (he was good). And now you.

speaking of guitarists playing at restaurants, last night I saw a guy who played a pretty ambitious and very well done set list. When was the last time you heard anybody play "When The Levee Breaks"? Or "Money"? On acoustic and do a damn fine job at it. He also did "Midnight Rider". He probably had the better voice I've heard this summer of all the street side troubadours. He plays in a band called Stone Road and I think they're based out of Providence, RI.

Eversource rally botched things up - right after that huge rate increase. My electric bill was $587 last month!

Wow. Some people don't have car payments that large! I'd certainly be looking at solar, too. That, or moving...

Connecticut has some of the highest utility rates in the state... and my car payment is less than that...

Why is that? If they don't have their own power generation facilities, they buy it from "the Grid," right? I admit I don't know all the ins and outs of the utilities, but if Connecticut is more expensive than the neighboring states, it smells to me like... TAXES. Am I right?

The company owes their allegiance to their shareholders and the DPUC has fed their greed for many years. Their lobbyists write their legislation and it has gone unchecked for years. They are also keeping a very expensive nuclear power plant operating at a high cost to ratepayers.
