just heard it from you, and checked other places, too. Sad. may he finally have peace.

    same story I told elsewhere

much respect, he was one of the greats.

back in the '70s, I met the older brothers of a bass playing friend of mine. These guys were dyed-in-the-wool blues musicians. It was a warm summer night and we were out on the patio with a transistor radio quietly playing. On came this song that was utterly mesmerizing. One of them turns to me and asks "Do you know who this is?"

I said "It sounds like Peter Green"

"Yeah, that's him, all right" Later my friend told me that his brothers were impressed that I knew who he was.

The Green Manalishi. I remember listening to that with rapt attention every time it came over the airwaves (Radio Luxumbourg, late at night). Then there's Black Magic Woman, made famous by Santana...

I seem to remember a story about how when Green came to play for John Mayall, and all the other guitar players (Page, Beck, Clapton) all sort of put their guitars down and let him through...

Oh Well, Green Manalishi, Albatross and versions of old blues greats, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac was to me the best incarnation of the band.

His story is a sad one. Schizophrenia, and for some time untreated. Even so, he struggled. I remember his comeback, and he seemed happy to be playing again.

    A great.

    RIP Mr Greenbaum.

I wonder where is Les Paul is now - the one that Gary Moore acquired? GM - another one of the greats no longer with us.

Kirk Hammett bought it a few years ago. He tours with it. There have been pics of him, the guitar and Peter Green together.

    The real Fleetwood Mac, IMO.
I have albums of every incarnation, and the Green / Kirwan / Spencer team was the best of them all.
No disrespect to Lindsay Buckingham, who is a hell of a player, or even Bob Welch...
I was listening to Live at the Boston Tea Party at rather high volume today.
    May Peter Rest in Peace.
