Is this a Fender Elite Walnut?

I'm confused it's a hardtail, no pearloid tuners , E3 serial, I believe pickups and guard are replaced because switch is reversed.

I don't know what it is, but it's beautiful.

Is that a new guitar, or older one?
I'm with Willie - not sure exactly what it is - Strats are traditionally 3 knobs, except for 1983, IIRC.
The pickups aren't stock - not that it means anything - they're easily replaceable and whoever did that could have switched the switch. and the tailpiece doesn't look familiar to me for anything Fender's used anytime recently.
You could take the serial number and contact Fender with it, they may be able to tell you what you have.

Also edit: with an E3 serial, it may well be an '83. If so, it's in remarkably good shape for nearly 40 year old guitar.

Re: Is this a Fender Elite Walnut?

My closest guess is 1983 Fender Elite in Walnut. The pickguard and pickups are replacements in my opinion. It should have 3 white active pickups with the 3 buttons. But that's an easy spot.

The more confusing issues are the tuners aren't pearloid and the bridge style (free flyte) is corrext except that it's a hard tail!!! It does not float or bend at all.

The neck is ebony wood, the serial is correct and the finish is correct. It's almost obviously an elite due to the neck plate saying Elite.... So if you ignore the pickups and pickguard there are still some minor issues.

Well, in my opinion, that's what matters above all else.

What do you mean by "the switch is reversed"? It looks exactly like the switch on both of my guitars.

Here's another Elite with the same hardtail bridge

I have owned several Elites. Yours isn't one. The Neck plate and the trem are from an Elite, but Elites did not back load the strings, so no spring cover was installed, and there is a 9 volt battery for Active Circuit, with cover on the back that your strat doesn't have.
