Is this AVRI '57 or fake?

    Hello!

I am asking you to help understand what kind of guitar it is. I am offered to buy this guitar inexpensively - 700$. Inexpensive - because the neckplate is lost. How this could happen - I do not understand.

This is supposedly the Fender American Vintage AVRI' 57 Stratocaster, 2008, but there is no evidence for this. And I can't check it.

Can someone in a series of photographs determine if this is really that guitar?

Likely a partscaster, constructed (mostly) of genuine Fender parts. The non-spec item is the middle pickup. That's the only legitimate reason for the missing original neck plate. For $700 I'd buy it.

It kind of looks like one - doesn't mean it necessarity IS one - Partscasters can be made up to mimic almost any thing.
If it plays and sounds good, then i'd jump on it.
Is there a serial number on the headstock? If so, Fender themselves may be able to help ID it.

I'm not onboard and here's why. It appears somebody used some CA in the body screw holes to repair it. It also looks like the holes have been egged out to accommodate a mix-matched neck. The solder job ain't too pretty either. It didn't leave the factory like that. I'm going with partscaster too.

One thing certain. Whoever strung that guitar don't know jack fucking shit about split-post tuners.

An AV for $700. First red flag.

You would have seen it if you'd seen my Strat in the mid-90s. I wasn't used to loading those tuners. I had such trouble that I cussed like a sailor. And the results were laughable.

Be careful, Dan, when I click on the pics, malwarebytes blocks the site, "due to trojan"

The correct word is "tovarich", not komrade.
