Another thread made me think of this, and I didn't want to hijack it, so I'm starting a new one. It seems that a lot of "stars" are finding creative ways to make music public while still practicing "social distancing." I admit I haven't watched many (there was a big, splashy Internet production recently with many A-list stars that I didn't watch) but a friend sent me a link, and it was a five minute video "mashup" of everyday people all performing a single song.

The technician in me kept wondering how the production of such a work is achieved. Individual clips edited together? I can hardly imagine this being performed live, as time lags and other issues would make the result sound muddy and brutish (just try having six people on a Zoom meeting recite the same passage and you'll see what I mean). The technical hurdles must be enormous.

So, not only did I enjoy the result, but I also salute the people who wrangled the technology to make it happen!
