I finally set my workbench up

I bought this bench back in 2017, IIANM. I originally was going to put it out in the garage of our old house. I was going to insulate and put white wallboard and pegboard all around. That never happened and we moved out to an apartment. During the move, my old music room computer hutch bit the dust. Time was needed for other things. The workbench sat in its box propped up against the living room wall for slightly over 10 weeks.

Today I finally moved some boxes out of the way, vacuumed the spot and then assembled the bench. Then I changed the position of all the furniture against the adjacent wall so I can have my bookcases be in proximity of the music 'room'. They'll be against the left side of the room and I'll put my amps on them. This will go a long way towards emptying out the storage area. A little bit of rearranging in my walk-in closet and I'll have place for all my guitars. I've got lots of work to do on my gear so this is a huge step for me.

Here's a pic, it will probably never be this neat again until it's time to pack to move.

I know it feels good to get stuff set up again. Are you able to get to any of your guitars other than the new Steinberger?

Re: I finally set my workbench up

I have guitars still in their moving boxes, 3 here and the rest at the storage unit. I have to address the closet set up, it's currently just stuff tossed in there to get out of the way of the furniture being moved in. There's a couple pieces in there that I'm not using and I need to find someplace else to put them.

First thing first, get rid of that huge empty (except for numerous styrofoam packing slabs) carton in the living room.

Huh, my desk lamp just burned out. Both LED bulbs I put in it (I've always used incandescent in that one) refused to light, operating on some flickering dim mode. I checked them in another lamp and they worked fine. I have no incandescent in the apartment, they're all in storage (figures). It's just a basic slide toggle socket lamp, I mean it's not freaking computerized or anything. It's a lamp, how tricky can it be?

Congrats on setting up the workbench.

A man needs a place where, from time to time, his mind can disengage from the world.

Many of the led lamps have a shoulder that is too large to allow full engagement in the socket.
    What happend?

be that as it may, this lamp is ancient but sadly not an antique worth preserving. I found a new lamp online that'll take 100 watt bulbs that I prefer for my personal desk space. I was surprised at how hard it was to find a suitable lamp that didn't cost as much as a boutique set of humbucking pickups. Some were veering into T-top territory
