    That's unfortunate for the owner's of their products. I've read complaints from guys with Pro Tools systems on Mac's. They work great, until they don't.

    Very true. In the early days, Apple only offered a 90-day warranty on their products. They didn't really need more than that because the products were built to very high QA levels. These days, as much as I like using their products (the new 13" MacBooks announced with the M2 chip have me drooling) I feel adding AppleCare to every purchase is a necessity.
