    Echo in the Canyon--On Netflix

I just watched a fantastic music doc hosted by Jakob Dylan called Echo in the Canyon on Netflix. Great film about bands like The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Mamas and Papas, Beach Boys, Tom Petty, CSNY, and others who moved to LA and started the West Coast sound we love.

Serge, I think this one's a must for you if you haven't seen it.

I watched this back in Nov and Dec. I thought it was well done and was an interesting subject to tackle. I’m still trying decide what I think about Jakob Dylan. The coffee table scenes with him, Regina Spektor and Beck was a little too contrived for my liking. The concert scenes were pretty good. Interview with Ringo was the high point for me.

I like Jakob Dylan, but you're right--those scenes are awkward. Ringo is the best interviewee of all The Beatles. I really dug the soundtrack. Even though it's a short film and can't go into depth with any of the bands, I think the director pulls it off.
