This is a lousy scan. I don't recall exactly when my '57 reissue was made. I took this pic in early 1989 and I bought the guitar new a couple of years before that.
Is a 1984 '57 Reissue Strat close enough for Internet work?

Thanks -- there was a thread at the LPF a year or so ago called "Back in Black," I think. I just lined up the black instruments I had and took a pick. I've always liked my '57RI (which I purchased as a Clapton "Blackie" clone), but I had a luthier shave the fretboard down to a flatter profile. It makes it much more playable than the original very curved shape.
